A longstanding diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Rauf Yousaf practiced with North Queensland X-Ray Services in Cairns and was chairman of Territory X-Ray Services, which served the needs of patients in Darwin. He also served as clinical director of IDXt, the tele-radiology division of IDX. Rauf Yousaf, MD, has a wide range of experience that includes advanced MRI applications and musculoskeletal imaging, and he has undertaken pain management consulting. Among his areas of extensive knowledge is percutaneous intervention for spinal pain.

 

Dr. Yousaf maintains an active presence in his professional community and in 2015 took part in the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna. The previous year he addressed the GE CT User Group in Cairns and he was also an invited speaker at the 2012 Sydney launch of the GE Dual Energy CT. In 2009, he presented at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Conference held in Canberra.

Originally from the UK, Dr. Yousaf holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Dundee in Scotland. He also completed medical studies at the same institution and gained qualifications through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. Rauf Yousaf enjoys collecting antiques, curios, and vinyl records in his free time.
